Duckhorn Vineyards has been crafting Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc since 1982. Expanding on this winemaking tradition, Decoy Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc allows our winemaking team the opportunity to explore a different expression of this great grape from another recognized California appellation.
Varietal Composition: 100% Sauvignon Blanc; Fermentation: 100% stainless steel Whole cluster pressed and fermented cold in stainless steel tanks to preserve delicate aromatics
From its exotic aromas of guava, Meyer lemon and passionfruit to its crisp acidity and citrus and stone fruit notes, this delicious Sauvignon Blanc dazzles with bright, fresh flavors. On the palate, alluring layers of tangerine, lemon peel, white peach and honeysuckle add nuance to a long, zesty finish.
Following a wet winter and a cool spring, the 2019 growing season got off to a later-than-normal start. Throughout summer, the vines enjoyed warm, temperate weather, which ensured abundant hangtime for the grapes to slowly develop vibrant, complex flavors. During harvest, a few small heat events provided a final push to ripeness, producing white wines with alluring aromatics and bright energetic structures, and reds with beautiful concentration and color, excellent acidity and layers of pure, lush fruit.
