Throughout California, the 2019 growing season provided picture-perfect growing conditions. Following a cool, wet winter and spring, summer brought perfectly temperate weather that created exceptional flavor development in the grapes. Warm weather during harvest ensured ideal ripeness, resulting in dynamic whites with beautiful energy and complexity, and lush and flavorful reds with deep colors and lovely intensity.

I had this 2019 Decoy Merlot with my Roasted Rack Lamb and a mushroom Merlot sauce. I found the first sip to be tannin for me. Then, I had the second sip with my rack of lamb and it was pretty good. I found with the food the Merlot tasted richer (feeling more round) having more body. It was delicious and enjoyable wit food. I recommend it with food. After my meal, I finish the last two sips and found it tasted thin, watered down like. Maybe like it's not fully developed. I am just returning to tasting wine. I usually drink white wones. But asked the wine saleman recommend a Merlot. Since I eat lamb often.
